Karen Molle is a highly respected courtroom lawyer with a wealth of experience in criminal law. She has defended clients in large drug importation cases, conspiracy cases, homicides, massive frauds and cases involving large cash seizures. Ms. Molle has a track record of success at both trial and on appeal.

With over 28 years of practice, Karen Molle has developed her first-rate reputation by successfully defending serious and complex criminal cases, including a wide range of criminal, drug, proceeds of crime and civil forfeiture litigation. Ms. Molle has argued at all levels of court, including the Supreme Court of Canada, and she has conducted cases in Alberta, British Columbia, Manitoba, and the Northwest Territories.

Ms. Molle received her LL.B. from the University of Victoria Law School in 1988. Following 17 years as a Federal Drug Prosecutor, she opened her Criminal Law Office in Calgary. As a former Drug Prosecutor, she acquired an in-depth understanding of drug cases, conspiracies, organized crime, wiretap law, large-scale police investigations and search and seizure.

While employed by the Department of Justice, she provided legal advice to specialized police units designed to target high-profile organized crime. Karen Molle now relies on this in-depth, unique knowledge of the inner workings of a police investigation to defend her clients.

Karen Molle recently organized and chaired the Legal Education Society of Alberta’s Search Warrant seminar covering an array of trending issues in search warrant challenges. Judges, Crown and Defence Counsel attended the successful event.

She is a regular guest instructor at the annual Intensive Advocacy workshop which is one of the most thorough advocacy skills courses for litigators in Western Canada. She also regularly presents at various legal education events in the areas of wiretap law, drug law, civil forfeiture and proceeds of crime.

As a member of the National Association of Criminal Defence Lawyers, Ms. Molle she regularly attends conferences on Forensic Science & the Law and Defending Drug Cases. Ms. Molle is a member of the Criminal Defence Lawyers Association, the Criminal Trial Lawyer’s Association and the National Association of Criminal Defence Lawyers.
