Appeals of Conviction and Sentence
A person who is convicted by a trial court may appeal against his conviction or sentence. Depending on the case, the appeal may be heard in the Court of Queen’s Bench or it may go directly to the Court of Appeal. From there, there are limited rights to appeal further to the Supreme Court of Canada.
